Neonatal Lung Analyzer

When a child is born prematurely the lungs are the last organ to develop, making it difficult for them to inhale oxygen. Currently there is no method for detecting how much oxygen that is present in the different parts of the lungs that is neither non-invasive nor dangerous for the child.

Together with Umeå neonatal unit and Gasporox I’ve created a concept of the first non-invasive lung analyzer for the neonatal unit. Gasporox is a company that is currently working with a non-invasive technique that makes it possible to detect the amount of oxygen and air that is present in the lungs of premature babies.
